Greg and Bethany Hamill

Greg and Bethany Hamill,  October 15, 2010

This couple is like family to me, so it seems appropriate for them to be the first wedding story album. I remember the day Greg first told us they were dating,  I think that same smile is on his face in all of these photos.  I’m so happy to have been a part of their beautiful fall wedding. The wedding took place at The Elkridge Furnace Inn. It’s a historic inn, circa 1744 surrounded by trees and gardens,  located in Elkridge Maryland.

Greg got ready with his groomsmen. Bethany had her hair done by her favorite stylist, Jade at George of New York, the makeup was by Lisa, with Smashbox.  The ladies got ready in a suite on the third floor of the inn, with beautiful window light and friends and family all around. Each bridesmaid chose her own style dress at David’s Bridal, Bethany’s beautiful gown came from Bridals by Elana, the colorful flowers were by DellaBlooms and Gifts.

Greg and Bethany opted to see each other before the ceremony to do pictures while there was still sunlight. I love how happy their faces are in these first-look pictures when they first saw each other on their wedding day!

The ring bearer and flower girl are the couple’s neice and nephew. Aspen carried the rings in a bird’s nest, and Ivy sprinkled orange rose petals down the brick walkway (that photo was taken by Bethany’s uncle Jerry.) Bethany’s proud father walked her down the aisle to Greg waiting on the other end with a huge smile for his bride.

The ceremony was performed by Reverend Laura Cannon, as Greg and Bethany read personal vows with lots of laughter and smiles in between.

The ceremony was held in the gardens, behind the inn. The woods were a perfect background for an intimate, and personal ceremony.

Here’s some of my favorite portraits from before the ceremony

Such a happy couple!

The bridesmaids and groomsmen fit into the blue and orange color scheme.

The bridal party was a lot of fun, and easy to work with. We took so many great photos that it was hard to choose the best ones to post!

All bridal parties should be this easy going and fun!

The Inn has an awesome porch that we were able to use for bridal party pictures. I also used the large windows in the bridal suite to get  portrait of Bethany in the sunlight, I love this shot of her, and her dress.

Bethany designed the invitations, she used a tree and bird theme, and the leaves were actually hearts. She continued that design and the bird theme with other details at the wedding. The placecards were on top of a glass design by the florist, and the cards were designed by Bethany using the cake topper for inspiration.

The book for guests to sign was a scrapbook of old pictures, there were glowsticks for the sendoff instead of bubbles, and the favors were cds with songs selected by the bridal party and labels that matched the invitation. Flowers, votive candles and bird houses decorated the tables in the ballroom.

Greg and Bethany did their first dance as they were introduced into the room as Mr. and Mrs. Hamill for the first time. I love this series of pictures.

The happy couple was introduced into the room, and ended their first dance with the perfect dip (this is a favorite shot from the day, of Bethany’s too) and then thanked their friends, family, and guests as they toasted to a happy marriage!

I loved their cake, which was made by the Inn, Della Blooms flowers were so colorful and the topper was perfect for Greg and Bethany since they spend a lot of time as a couple, and with friends mountain biking.

The bouquet was thrown and the garter removed, caught by Bethany’s cousins.

The music was provided two of the five members of Dem Guise,  Mitch Morrill played the guitar and Scott Matlock played the violin, which was fun and different! There was lots of dancing, hanging out, and good food. Several different buffets were prepared by the inn including a Chesapeake station, a Spanish station, an Italian station, and lots of other great vegetarian dishes to choose from. The glow sticks were waved in the air as the couple left in their decorated car!

Congratulations to Greg and Bethany!
What a perfect wedding, I’m so happy to have been a part of it!
